When I was a "Noob"

Some of my mates and me were discussing stupid things we did when we first started playing DayZ. Here is my story...

 

The very first time I played DayZ I spawned near Cherno in a low population server. Once i got in the city I tried to play it stealthy and sneak past all the zeds. Lets just say it didn't work and i got about half the zombies in the city aggroed on me, I started to run away from the zombies. Not knowing how to lose the agrro i wanted to see if i could swim away from them so i an towards the docks. Then my greatest idea came to me, they cant get me if im on the crane. Little did i know they could climb ladders. So here i am on top of the crane with 20 zombies climbing the ladder and no weapon, when i decide to take a leap of faith. All i got was a screen saying you are dead.

 

So it wasn't the bandits or zombies that killed me surprisingly, I killed myself.

 

We had a lot of good stories like this, and want to hear more from you guys from what you did when you where a "noob".

I thought Zombro's couldent get on the docks?  Ehh my first time playing i picked a CZ550 from the barns right outside of cherno, sit there on the hill for abit not knowing what the fuck to do.. and just started running into cherno. Died shortly there after due to zombies.

I used to try to sneak past zombies.

Also when I got my first sniper which was a CZ550 I thought it was a good idea to go ontop the light house and snipe. Figured it was a good idea to prone and.... there goes my leg

I used to shoot the dinner bell in cherno/electro

The first time i played i just tried to get off the coast. I ran around in the woods until i starved to death...

when i was a noob i spawned near cherno and just ran into the church because i read that there would be weapons:P

when i discovered there were non i wanted to go outside but like all the zeds in the game were walking in:P

i was literally slaughtered by zeds:P

My very first day of playing DayZ, we met up with some pretty nice people, and were running in a group onto Skalicity island, to the industrial building and Heli crash site.  However, I had TWO major noob moments that day. 

 

First moment, while negotiating the contained stair well on the side of the industrial building, I managed to have a "strafe" fail, and fell out the opening in the wall, to my death.  *groan*

 

Later that same evening, with the same group of very nice people (who still roll in our clan, btw, so I think I may have been forgiven) I managed to accidentally throw a grenade instead of a flare, and killed myself, and a commrade.

 

He still winds me up about it.....

 

Needless to say, I am still pretty careful on stairs, and I pick up grenades..... for other people to use lol!!!!

I managed to CRAWL all the way up north without knowing it, and was then murdered by a hacker with an AS50 thermal. Or was it a legit weapon back then? I forget. It's been so long.
