I was wondering if DayZ actually enforces its server rules? I ask this because I am seeing more and more server that have passwords on them and I thought the rule was no passwords.

Yes it's a rule.

Do a search and you'll see the reasons why.

Also there's a new HOTFIX that was released, thus why most servers LOCK to update.
