Hordes of zombies aggro-ing out of nowhere?

Hi!

I don't know if this is a bug or not. This has happened to me multiple times. I sneak into a building or through a town completely undetected and suddenly 10 or 12 zombies run directly at me out of nowhere.

I know they were not previously on me so what gives? Is this a bug or is this something that I will just have to deal with by repeatedly dying since I don't have a starting weapon?

Sounds like some hefty spawned zombies, which were supposed to spawn at least 30 meters away. Might be a bug when you enter buildings and the spawn distance is reduced. :/

Same happens to me a lot. Constant zombies spawning out of nowhere right next to me.

With all the hotfixes coming out at a high rate of speed you may want to start including Beta build and DayZ version.

i.e "Blah blah zombies" beta xxxxx and dayz v.1.7.1

Note that as i post this DayZ v1.7.1.5 is out

Makes sense, I was generally inside a building before the wave would spawn.

I've gone onto a roof from creeping through the town and only bypassing one or two zombies and yet when I've got onto the roof and I look around there are a lot more zombies and they're all converging on me, but they're not even running or looking alert, they're just stumbling but all paths converge on me. It's like they're psychic but they don't know it.

I was once in solnichniy and got onto one of the industrial roofs at the north west of the town, out of the 189 zombies spawned on the server, I counted 27 were waiting for me spread along the rail tracks and surround the building I was on. I hadn't alerted a single one, I sat around for another 10 minutes to see if there were actually anyone else there and then I logged out, immediately logged back in and they were all gone... So they were spawned on me only, yet out of nowhere.

Do the zombies have some natural group forming instinct?
