Ping Problem - Always Kick

Recommended Posts

Hello Guys!

I want to play DayZ really badly (after I saw my friend playing it) but I have the problem, that as soon as I join a server my ping raises up to >1000ms. But when I am in the server browser it shows a "normal" ping (about 50-70ms). I heard it's because players have to "host" the zeds for others. So there are two questions:

- Is this networking stuff (client hosts zeds) changed in the standalone version?

- Are there any servers without pinglimit, so I wont get kicked every 15 seconds?

Thank you really much!

Hope I can play DayZ soon :D

Zeds are handled by the server, not the client, in the standalone.

Yes, there are some servers without ping limits. You'll have to find them through trial and error though, most won't advertise that they don't have a ping limit.

If you're playing at 1000 ping, the game will be unenjoyable regardless. Check if you have any applications or FTP programs running while you play, as they can cause strong ping inconsistency.
