Idea for KoS

want to remove KOS?

 

remove 3rd person.

 

watch the city campers flee to the woods once the ability to exploit the maze of walls, doorways, stairwells, rooftops, windows and corners disappears.

 

also the lack of fir tree light bending will force players out in the country to think more carefully about initiating a gun fight.

He will need to expose himself to even spot another player, returning real fear and tension to all combat situations and removing the light hearted comedy nature of pvp with 3rd person.

Thats not going to help it.  All the pvpers aren't in the city.  Also third person is need.  The FOV for first person just isn't good enouth at the moment.

I said reduce.

 

 

 

and of course removing the ability to exploit the environment will reduce KoS gameplay simply by making it more risky to attempt and more difficult to pull off.

 

edit - also I don't focus on 'the city', removing 3rd person will drastically affect pvp and KoS all over the map.

The negatives will out weigh the positive.  First person is not ready to be the only view mode.  Not until we can adjust our FOV.

 

Also the reason I brought up the city is because that's where third person is exploited the most.  Anyways.  Everyone has third person so no one has a advantage.  

 

I still can't figure out how Third Person=KOS.  You claim it will force them into the open to spot players....thats bullsh**.  I can easily peak from behind cover to spot and barley even expose myself.  I can hide and bush and stick only my head and yet and use binocks *I do that a lot*

It's not just about advantage or not. 3DPV is breaking common sense. You do not expect your opponent to see you while you can't see him. You can't sneak around some guy 3dp'ing on a rooftop. You can't wait for him to pop up his head to sneak peek because he doesn't have to. It just makes PvP unnatural and weird. That might be ok in single player experience but not in a competitive multi player scenario intended for 1st person.

 

And 3d personing around a corner is not the same as peeking/leaning around it because the latter one exposes yourself to some degree.

3rd person allow you to see without being seen, this alone should be enough of a case against it. If you want to see you should have to expose yourself.

Yeah 3rd person is bad, but I would kill myself if I had to play only in 1st person. In Arma 2 1st person just hurts my eyes and it's really unconfortable, especially those screen shakes while walking or running, because of them I can't see anything ahead of me when I am running. Arma 2 was created to play in 3rd person and switch to 1st person only for fights.

Btw, would you rather be KoSd or betrayed a second later? Also does it make a difference whether you were Killed at the beginning or stalked for kilometers and then killed? Byw I dont like losing my advantage and the element of surprise. And all the crap about "uuuu KoS for nabz, heros best furevar, bandits ruining ma gameee!" Acting like a bunch of pus... cats. Also KoSers are killed on sight aswell for their bandit skin. What is your problem. You know the enemy, why dont you fight him?
