Hi,

 

Was wondering, Every time I start a game I'm a bird lol. Can anyone help me with this problem?

I'm assuming this happens when joining a DayZ server? Make sure everything is up to date. Also try verifying the integrity of your cache.

Help me out here what do I do, this is my first ever time playing DayZ and Arma 2, I got recommended and saw a few youtube vids to see people running, murdering people or killing zombies but as I don't know what to do I seem to be a bird.

The bird is ArmA 2's way of putting you in spectator mode, which usually happens after you die when respawning is disabled on a mission. Just keep trying to join the server over and over. If not, press Respawn and kill yourself then try again.

Okay. Even thought there's no respawn, it only says Abort, Options and what not. I'll try and see though. Plus I cannot join all servers as it says "Bad version something something". I have updated beta version, the 1.62 thing, but yet again i'll try.

Ok right, now when I enter the game, all settings have been changed. What is the default ones? I press default is just messes up even more. Plus I cannot enter games.

Ok, so are you using Dayz Commander ? 

 

 If you are,In the install/update window do you have the latest Arma2 Update ? 

 

 What are your pc specs also :)

I recommend running through DayZ commander, should fix the whole version "1.62" issue.
