brano880 0 Posted August 19, 2013 Ok, so today I just bought ARMA II and ARMA OA from Steam. Everything just finished downloading. I went to DayZ, clicked play with ARMA OA, it loads almost all the way, but it stops and gives me these errors: Error compiling pixel shader PSSpecularAlpha:0 and No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgInGameUI/MPTable.shadow' Also, when I try to run DayZ with ARMA OA Beta, it loads, but tells me, "bad serial number given in setup". But I was never given the chance to put in a serial number anywhere... Please help!
Barack Obama 215 Posted August 19, 2013 (edited) I'm not sure how to fix the first error but the "No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgInGameUI/MPTable.shadow'" error is perfectly normal. Also, never use the ArmA 2 OA beta or the DayZ shortcut in Steam. If you don't know how properly launch the game using Steam, I would recommend to just launch the game using DayZcommander. If you want the benefit of the Steam overlay, there's lots of tutorials on YouTube explaining how to properly launch it using the Steam ArmA 2 OA shortcut. Basically you need to: 1) Verify DayZ code and ArmA 2 OA patch is up-to-date (using DayZcommander).2) Copy and paste the Arma2oa.exe from the expansions folder into the root directory (confirm copy and replace).3) Launch game ArmA 2 OA through Steam.4) Enable the appropriate expansions.5) Exit the game.6) Re-launch through Steam.
