Freeaze 2 Posted August 15, 2013 Just simply wanted to put this out there. Please support the option for "Sound Output Device" in SA! <3I recently bought a new soundcard and was hoping (or well, assumed) I would be able to play music in the speakers and game-sound in my headset.... well no. As far as I've read, it's difficult to implement afterwards? Hopefully I'm not way to late, or maybe some kickass developer already thought of this.Anyway, can't wait (or well, I can. I trust your judgement. It's ready when it's ready!!) for SA ;D I surely hope it's gonna be the game of my dreams (no pressure). And thanks for DayZ mod! (= (Edit, removed blue text) *<snip>* There is a suggestion Forum section."Just simply wanted to put this out there. Please support the option for "Sound Output Device" in SA! <3" Back on Topic,,,please.
Lady Kyrah 1110 Posted August 15, 2013 Seconded, i use virtual sound devices for streaming and there is hardly any game out there that support using a sound output that isn't the windows "default".

Dr-Shade 83 Posted August 16, 2013 If your running Windows 7, then in your "sound Devices" settings, you can actually select your "default" sound devices for specific programmes... So if you have a secondary or "Virtual" device installed windows will recognize it as a separate device.... All you need to do is set your Headset as Default for Arma2 ( or whatever game you happen to be playing ) and set the Default device for your music programme, as the one that drives your speakers ( or Visa-versa) Does this help? B)Where do I tell my music program to use X sound output?I actually believe u proposed exactly what the problem is. You can not tell ArmA2 to use your headset, u can't tell it anything really. It will simply use what windows is set to default, and so will the music software. This means that both programs are now playing through your headset. I'm all ears for a workaround, so far I've tried: IndieVolume. Also a program suggested by a DayZ poster called Jack (the program that is). Havn't been able to figure it out yet... Anyway, IndieVolume did not work on my system, presumebly because it's 64-bit (windows 7).And those thinking, "use VirtualAudioCable", sorry. It had nothing to do with the issue at hand (= Summary, we want to assign "audio output device" on a program-to-program basis (in a nutshell). This would be easy if the 2 programs at hand supported the option individually, but if none does (which is the case) we get a bit sad. Solutions/workarounds are more than welcome!! <

mr_chabowski@live.co.uk 2416 Posted August 16, 2013 @ Freeaze I don't know about other media software, but you can change the sound output device for Windows Media Player.Set whatever you want ArmA sounds to play through as the "Default device" and change the playback device in WMP to something else. Right Click > Tools > Options : If you just want to have music in the background while you play your games, this should sort you out.

For me, being able to directi the game sound to the interface i will be recording for streaming is a plus.
Freeaze 2 Posted August 16, 2013 And I listen with Spotify, preferebly. Spotify is no voice-over software^^Also, having the webbrowser always playing on the speakers, even if I'm playing a game in the background. For watching youtube/twitch/<insert random site here>. mr_chabowski@live.co.uk 2416 Posted August 16, 2013 I'm no miracle-worker. :P You're obviously going to be somewhat limited unless the programs you use support more than just "Windows Default".You asked for a workaround, you got a workaround. If you're using Spotify, try this plugin.http://www.equalify.me/ It's an equalizer, but also allows output selection.
