Robert512 12 Posted June 20, 2012 [attachment=1225]The Dutch version of a Soldiers handbook, the 1985 edition that I still have after all those years. All those training and lessons at bootcamp so long ago, they are still usefull in this game and can now be performed in the comfort of my own home instead in a cold and miserable part of the Netherlands. The next few pages tells about moving through the landscape, be invisible, don't let them hear you. And lots more about those basic things. Where do place your bandage package, your cantine should be filled to the rim.And yes then I had FN-Fal as primary weapon and the Carl Gustav Mk 2 as secundary, loads of fun to work with the real thing. Omnishift 2 Posted June 20, 2012 The "use of cover" is totally right! haha. So many people in this game go near a tree, but don't realize that they can put most of themselves behind it for much better protection.
Ejaculacid 19 Posted June 20, 2012 Most players aim in this game, bottom right seem's correct
STING (DayZ) 0 Posted June 20, 2012 "cold" parts on the Netherlands ya right - greetings from 69 degrees North ;)That tree, I wouldn't call cover though... have you tried firing at different materials to see how well you penetrate? Lots of splinters coming at ya when that tree is hit - better wear your glasses ;) I guess it counts as concealment to some degree though
Robert512 12 Posted June 20, 2012 "cold" parts on the Netherlands ya right - greetings from 69 degrees North ;)I can tell you that guarding a disused railbridge somewhere on a cold. windy and rainy night in november in the Netherlands is an experience that that would make the most of us feel miserable. And yes it was dark as in, you could see a difference between sky and everthing else (only slightly better than in DayZ) and the assault on that bridge would not come before 5-6 o clock in the morning. After that assault it was one more day and then ... Hot shower :D
STING (DayZ) 0 Posted June 20, 2012 Well yeah I guess that sucks.... our coldest moment this winter was -44 degrees C - strolled over to chow in our regular cotton work/summer uniform and a t-shirt underneath ;)Loving the summer - the snow disappeared around the first week of june, but it's light as day at 3AM - however it gets sort of... dark, during winter :p Meaning, so close to DayZ-dark it's dangerous - especially around tents, if you know what I mean.Anyway, wet + wind is a motherfucker, heh.
