Arma II not working

Recommended Posts

I've played this game a lot for over three months and all of a sudden it doesn't get past the Arma II screen. I go into the task manager and it says it's responding. I've just left it there and then I got onto it after an hour or so. I've got a high end laptop, they specs are a lot better than what is needed and I use to be able to play this game lag free.

Steam or retail ?

If Steam then verify the integrity of game cache, right click on the game and then select properties > local files

If retail try a reinstall

There's your problem then, does it say what file ?

Steam should automatically fix it but you could try deleting it and Steam will redownload.

It doesn't say what file it it. While validating it says 'Validating Steam Cache files (0 of 1)'

Try restarting Steam, if that doesn't work try contacting them.

If one of more files is corrupt or damaged it will stop the game working.

Launch steam as administrator. Go to your game library like PK said and verify game cache when thats completed launch the game until you get to the main menu. This should fix the remainder of files that were unable to be verified.

That didn't work. So I've uninstalled steam and reinstalled it, not I just got to download Arma  II

Now my steam crashes as 99% of the download, I've deleted the local content several times to try to get it to work but it's not working. It shows that it is downloading at 9MB/s for a couple of minutes then all of a sudden it drops down to 0 bytes.

I got Arma II working, but I have to turn off my internet.... I don't think I should have to do that since I want to play DayZ  >:(  :(
