How to mark something on map ?

Hello

I know how to mark a black mark on my map, but what i want to do is, to mark something on map and when im in game i will see the direction of the map and the distance like in Frankie's videos and alot more videos. ty

if you want to add a waypoint then shift-click to add a marker.  Then you will see the waypoint on your HUD but that option is dependent on server settings.  Some servers have it turned off as some consider it "cheating" because you don't have to learn to read the map properly.

How do you remove it afterwards. I have a sort of ocd which tells me that after i have used it or walked over it i should be able to turn it off or have it turn off,

Is there a way to mark something on the map without other players seeing it???

First time I played dayz I got a tent, some guns and marked it on the map, next thing I know all of my stuff is gone.At the moment I mark nothing on the map.
