Odd lagg in DayZ with a descent rig

So, I had lag in DayZ on my old rig, but since then Ive replaced parts

 

 

 

I now have

 

 

 

 

GTX 660 4GB

 

 

 

AMD FX 6100 3.3 Ghz

 

 

 

8 GB RAM

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It runs ok for the most part, but it drops down to 20-30 FPS in cities

 

 

 

Is this just an optimization issue? Or can my PC not run this well?

The low FPS in cities is completely normal.

 

Running an i5 3570k @ 3.9GHz and a GTX 770, FPS is around 70-100 in forests/towns, but drops to 40 or below in cities. 
 

It's just something you'll have to get used to.

I get 40 50 fps out side citys,but drops of like 30 to 9 fps in citys.

you cant do anything about it,maybe standalone will fix this?

It's your cpu thats the bottle neck, as Death Dealer said, this is pretty normal for DayZ, 

 

Try going through some settings guides, this is a pretty good one  http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/28160-guide-how-to-set-up-your-graphics-properly/

 

And if you still have no improvement you might want to consider overclocking.

I wouldn't say you can't do anything to improve it. totally depends on what your settings are at to start with.
