JayMeHD 26 Posted June 20, 2012 Is the camo bug fixed? or still pendingWhich bug? Where you spawn in the sea?It hasn't be fixed recently in my knowledge, you could risk it. Check the bug report threads to see if anybody has reported it recently. If not, try it out, if you die, post a bug report.
Spookz0r 12 Posted June 20, 2012 In the 1.7.1.4 thread or something Rocket said its better to stick to the default gear atm due to bugs :)

Asmo (DayZ) 3 Posted June 20, 2012 Or you could, as JayMeHD said, risk it. I've had a few ghillie-suits and alot of camo clothing and never spawned in the ocean.I read one theory that when you put on a new skin, your location in the world is lost and set to a place that happens to be in the ocean. And that if your character gets saved before you leave, you won't spawn in ocean. As I have never actually experienced the bug myself so I don't know if this is the case (or possibly so). But I've always made sure to not kill my game right after I've switched skins and never had any problem with it.
Spookz0r 12 Posted June 20, 2012 Tried ghillisuit on 1.7.1 but zombies aggro even more if you have it on. My friend could just sneak past them if I did the same I got aggro... So watch out around zombies in the ghillie suit :)

You probably just fail at sneaking ;)Anyway back to the op, I have been using camo and ghillie all this time and never got teleported or spawned in the ocean. Make sure that when you change your skin you do not try to move around but stand still instead. Also do not log off soon after changing skins and you should be fine. stimpen 0 Posted June 20, 2012 I tested skin yesterday and it worked!Ok I have tested skin once before and ended up in sea in 1.7.0 and no AO beta installed when switching to camo skin. My debug stats was zeroed when I put on the skin but was back in next login in sea. Read the forums and they said that the latest AO beta will fix the skin-sea problem.Yesterday with the latest AO beta and 1.7.1.4 installed and I had lost my weapons due to the update for some reason I thought I would give it a try again and put on a ghilie suite I had been carrying around. My debug stats was zeroed and I was like WTF! But I thought I run down south and try to put up a tent with my stuff in and relogin and swim back. Also some ppl say you have to play for 15mins to be saved so I continued to play.During my travels I killed maybe 20 zombies and a survivor(NW airfield, you get kinda paranoid there). Then I lost my connection to the server and was like, ok now my new stuff is gone.I login immedietly again and I did not end up in sea!!! So it worked and i got my former debug stats back with the new one since skinchange added.Dont know if this helps out but I have been at sea once and now it worked with latest beta and updates. Most keep their civilian outfit and switch to it when heading into a town.

Most keep their civilian outfit and switch to it when heading into a town.I can't give you a quote, since I can't be assed to find it. But I'm pretty sure skins aren't supposed to change how well zeds see you in any way, it's purely there to help sneak vs players.Seeing as you said you followed him exactly, take into consideration that the zombies aren't stationary. They turn (they see straight ahead now), they move and whatnot.I'm pretty sure that the ghillie does not make you easier to detect by zombies and I have not noticed anything like that myself.Just saying. heathy87 1 Posted June 20, 2012 i've only switched from camo to ghillie once and i only saw a flicker of ocean, then i was back in the supermarket. i think that was in 1.7.1.2 though, i'm not sure if anything has changed with the ghillie in 1.7.1.4.its a risk though.the sight and hearing thing is out of whack, at night you can crouch and have 0 bars stationary, in 1.6.0.1 and 1.7.0.1, i am almost positive you were more visible on roads, 2 bars instead of 1, i could be wrong though, in the current version it doesn't seem to change the sight bars compared to other skins, 1 sight bar while prone.
