Spent about 3 hours running around looking for glass, and scrap metal. Check several industrial area's , but no luck. Does it spawn in a diff area other then industrial area or should I just keep checking.

Just keep checking, as far as I know they spawn in all industrial areas but I suggest going somewhere out of the way of a spawn town as theirs a chance a industrial place has not been looted.

Check out the harbour in the north of the right island near Dalnogorsk, all the containers spawn incredibly much industrial loot. Also good for farming building materials.
