Jammy147 0 Posted June 20, 2012 So, I have been playing DayZ since 1.5.6'ish, or something like that. And the further I have come inte the game, the less I see people asking if someone is friendly. Everyone got their own playing style, but at the beginning when alot of people asked "Hey you there, in the deerstand west of berezino, friendly?"When people asked that, new players understood what to do. And they also did this. Now Its been too long since I saw anyone typing those words in chat. It has all gone to wild west these days. Everyone shoots on sight now. As i said earlier, everyone got their own playing style. But can everyone really have the "shoot on sight" style? :huh:I dont mean to whine or something like that, just want to get a discussion about this going. If there already is a thread about it it would be awesome if someone linked it. I'm from Sweden so my English is a bit rough.
break 88 Posted June 20, 2012 The removal of the bandit skins has had an impact on this. If I saw a survivor skin I'd always ask if they were friendly before shooting, bandit I'd just fire or stay well clear. The removal of side chat on most servers has added to banditry too. Using direct chat or the heartbeat sensor means you have to be on top of someone for it to work, by which time its normally too late for one of you. Another thing, dare I say... is that DayZ is getting a tad boring just surviving. (I still love it BTW). However, myself and a well equipped team mate took out a squad of 4 the other day at stary sobor. It was so intense and nerve racking, I've never had a feeling like it playing any other game. As soon as I see another player now my heart rate shoots through the roof, so maybe engaging them is the more exciting option, rather than teaming up?Just my thoughts anyway. Bandit skins and the side chat removal makes it almost impossible to team up with people that u dont know, i dont really care that much i got a couple of friends to play with. But i think about new players will get tired of it quick... maybe? And i dont know does the direct chat really work? its been ups and downs all the time. And i know exactly what u mean about nerve racking. Its crazy that the heart rate can go up so high by a damn game. I have never felt that before. Its awesome that way!
