Hatchet woes

Hey,

I may have missed an update notice - but is it right that the hatchet now takes the place of the primary weapon? I like the idea of it being used for melee, but mostly I'd be using it for chopping wood.

So - is it correct that it's no longer stored alongside the map, gps & watch etc, but instead either takes up 10 slots in my bag or is in the primary slot?
