Blondedash 403 Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) I worry that I am not making myself clear... It's not about comfort, it's about degrees of control. Keyboard = 8; joystick = 360. Even if the game only supports one or so hundred degrees of movement Using a keyboard will only ever offer 8I don't need to type in chat when I can talk through a mic, I don't need 101 separate keys when a Dpad radial menu can utilize functionality of easily 12 commands by itself.I don't even know why you brought up doing work when we are discussing the merits of game playing.I was talking keyboards in general saying they do more. joystick you mean dual joystick having one joystick doesn't suit games logically one of the joystick is w a s d, another one is the mouse sensor, the bumpers/buttons are left click right click, the triggers are any button usually f and something else, the dpad is 1234, and the buttons on the right are space, r, esc and e. the joystick press downs are scroll up or down that is just about it. S&M Inc. 14 Posted July 3, 2013 Playing dayz with controller... :lol:Console DayZ may happen, but at what cost? Not even the SA is here yet alone completed. I get the impression a console will just explode with all the features.Would be nice for exposure (the game, not the explosion)http://nooooooooooooooo.com/Console fanboy is like talking to a brick wall.A lot of elitism going on here. Less so from Blondash as time goes on.Let the consoles have their games. Doesn't effect you one bit, unless that game does better on consoles sales wise. Which is what happens when easily your entry point for a low-medium graphics style game is $500-700. Then recording, software, games, add up to a solid $900. But we are talking in legal terms, not illegal. That's the biggest problem I see with a console release. Too much success.
Zombie Jesus 723 Posted July 3, 2013 someone on this forum get a i3 3320 and tell me how well it performs in dayz cause that is pretty much the ps4 performance. I don't call that easily.Consoles are different and are better optimized, they are able to do more with less because they have a narrow focus. While the hardware lags behind the current slate of games should hint that consoles are going to be capable of running open world multiplayer games

Zombie Jesus 723 Posted July 3, 2013 consoles are the only reason we don't have awesome games that rip hardware to pieces not literally and look absolutely stunning :(.Well I can agree with you there, most developers want to maximize profits and make games capable of running on all platforms so at best PC will get better graphics and more players for multiplayer. PC will always lack big budget exclusive titles because the money is not there and console makers will continue to have long life spans because anything else would be economic suicide for the industry. I am fine with people lamenting reality as long as they realize there are very significant reasons this reality exists, essentially you are complaining about something that will never change. Yeah, If I need to throw down some spreadsheets or whip up a fat batch of emails I am going to use my computer and a keyboard. Beside the point. But I'm not asking you to map out a keyboard, believe it or not I'm not responding to you from my console, I'm using a keyboard to type this all out, I can see all of the buttons and figure out what button could proxy what button, I'm not arguing that the keyboard doesn't have enough keys. And if that's about it then the argument that a controller doesn't have enough buttons really doesn't stack up either. I want 360 degrees at each thumb. End of story. Until a keyboard can offer that I do not think that, in my personal opinion, a keyboard/mouse set up beats a console controller.

I wish they could create a cost efficient console that could match the worlds best gaming computers on a hardware level while still being affordable, but they can't. More important than the best graphics or the smoothest running processes is accessibility, Consoles make so much money because they are universally accessible; anyone can understand how a console works, you put the game in, you hit the start button, you play. Mom's and grandparents can't and won't figure out how to build a computer to optimize gaming so their kids can play a game, but they can just go to any electronics retailer and get an xbox or a playstation and know that it will just plug in and play. People don't need to know how to update a graphics driver or install a faster processor to play a new game that just released and stay current with the gaming community because they know no matter what the game is or requires their console will be able to play it. I think that games should be made so that anyone can enjoy them, and consoles make the a possibility. I know that when I buy a system I will never have to upgrade it, or take it apart and change anything, or have to buy more of anything down the road to play the newest titles or to buy a game recommended by my friend, and that is important to me.

I wasn't talking about the accessibility I don't give a crap about that. NVidia has fixed the tweaking settings things look up GeForce experience and the fact you need to install a new driver it does it for you. I wasn't talking about the fucken accessibility I don't give a crap about that. holy shit the most swears I have made in one post. NVidia has fixed the tweaking settings things look up GeForce experience.Cut down on the swearing, I'm not trying to argue, I'm trying to debate. You're throwing around fucks and shits and not even taking the time to edit what you type. Whether you care about accessibility or not it is important to gaming 'in general'. Needing to upgrade your system to play new games sucks. at least when I bought a PS3 it lasted me for 10 years, even if it didn't have the same graphics you could get from a custom built PC, assuming you know how to custom build a PC. The consoles are built fine, as long as you take care of them, like any electronic device. Computers can overheat too. And at least I have never had to clean a virus off of a console.I have a feeling this is going to last a while...Didn't you hear sarkasm0? I'm a brick wall. SaveMeJebus 164 Posted July 3, 2013 (edited) I miss my Fragnstein now : / left half of a console controller w/ analong stick and a mouse, it was the perfect combination. *** Still no way you could play DayZ on one of them tho, to many key combinations Edited July 3, 2013 by SaveMeJebus
