Extremely low FPS in the cities with mid-high-end rig.. QUESTIONS.

This is my hardware configuration:

Puni's DAILY - CLICK HERE: Cooler Master HAF X NVIDIA EDITION Asus M4A89TD PRO/USB3 + Phenom X6 1075T @267*15=4005Mhz yellow voltages (NB @2670Mhz) + Asus GTX580 Voltage Tweak @851-1702/4300Mhz 1,075V + 8GB of Samsung 30nm DDR3 @1780Mhz 8-8-8-22 1,6V | Caviar Black 3TB SATA III RAID0 | Samsung 2032BW | Win7x64

Despite graphics settings in the cities I get 10-20FPS.

So I have some questions:

- does Arma 2 uses six-core CPUs? Or just four? Is there any way (if not) to make it use all six?

- what's in your opinion settings really compromising my performance?

Dude depend on the server you are on, try play a normal multiplayer game of arma 2 OA and see if the game still lagging

EDIT: i have a phenom X4 965 BE and a sapphire hd6870 OC and i can play whit no problem all on normal 60fps... depend on the server you are on trust me

Thanks a lot for your answer. Actually I was noticing my CPU usage + GPU usage were quite low on that server and FPS of course were low too.

I will try changing server.

Did changing servers solve your problem? I was getting 13 fps in cities earlier today with AA and anistropic filtering on low, post processing on low, with the resolution @ 1920x1080(3d res set to the same).

Acutally not very much. Often the server goes well at start with nice CPU\GPU usage but then it drops... really strange thing. Temp. are ok.

I'm experiencing the same issues. I'm getting 45-60 FPS upon login, but after about 30 minutes it drops to a crawl at 10-15 fps. I don't recall experiencing this during 1.7.1.2.

Nice to hear that, seeing also we have quite different rigs (no it's not AMD and it's not Intel).

Really strange issue... I hope we'll get any answer.

Your issue is mainly server related.

Currently 50 % of the server admins forgot to update their server_dayz.pbo to 1.7.1.3 due to the short timed releases. If they still run the 1.7.1.2 you have shitty FPS. Easiest way to check if they run the old version is to fire a shot and log out. If you are missing a whole magazine - here you go. 1.7.1.2.

Then there are the 20% running 24hours and causing the FPS to drop.

Give it a day or two till all the admins updated correctly, so you only have to deal with 20% :-)

Actually I have joined just 1.7.1.4 servers and the problem is the same.
