Galaxis 0 Posted June 28, 2013 (edited) Hello, everyone. SO, I don't understand, why I get very low fps. My computer specs:intel core i5 quad-core 3.2ghz,8gb DDR3 ram,500gb hdd,1gb AMD Radeon HD 6670. (shows 4gb, dunno why)I'am playing with NORMAL settings and even get lag. I don't get it. Maybe some drivers are too old? New computer, not a lot programs running. Edited June 28, 2013 by Galaxis
VidKo 53 Posted June 28, 2013 You need a a better graphic card with minimum of 1GB of GDDR5 memory and at least a 256-bit memory interface
DazTroyer 227 Posted June 28, 2013 Yep, you need a new card. Minimum, imo, gtx 560ti or better. (or amd equivalent)
DirtyCry 118 Posted June 28, 2013 Which Resolution are you using? Whats the nativ resolution of your screen?Whats your Anti alasing settings? The Arma2 engine is from 2009 so i think every Driver yunger then 2010 should work fine. You picture says your have 4,0GB of video ram? Are you using crossfire?
Mos1ey 6301 Posted June 28, 2013 (edited) As above - the problem is your graphics card. I'd upgrade to a 560Ti (or AMD equivalent) at the very least, but even then you'd still be playing on 'normal' settings, just with better FPS. DazTroyer 227 Posted June 28, 2013 I had the gtx 560ti 448 and could play on high, with AA off with upwards of 50+ fps, 20 in Cherno lol. Had to OC the living daylights out of it but it never died on me.

I've 8 gigs of ram and i5 quad-core processor, isn't that enough? :o What computer should I use then? Or you mean, it is needed a very expensive and powerful video card?P.S No crossfire. Your CPU and RAM (assuming it's 1333mhz or faster, which it probably is) would be fine for 'high' settings but you need something a bit more powerful GPU-wise (580 or better, really) to run with decent FPS and you'd need a (preferably OC'd) ivy bridge with a really good graphics card to run on very high/max settings. ARMA 2 and DayZ mod are super hardware intensive and with BiS being the small indie dev team that they are, the optimisation could be better, so you need pretty good hardware.I'm currently playing on an i5 3570k @ 4.4Ghz with a Gigabyte HD 6970 OC 2Gb and that gets me by with 40-60 FPS on 'high' settings with a few things bumped up to 'very high'. Upgrading to a GTX 780 next month and then my system will be good enough to run the mod more or less maxed out.Don't despair though, the game looks fine on 'normal' settings and actually pretty damn nice once you get up to 'high'. applejaxc 2500 Posted June 28, 2013 I'm on a medium-low business laptop and I play around 30FPS on low settings.
intensity (DayZ) 312 Posted June 28, 2013 Personally, I don't think your problem has anything to do with either graphics or cpu. If I was to guess I would say it could be your HDD. (see this thread for reference) http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/140532-why-ssd-is-good-for-arma2dayz-completed/And since I don't know your hdd specs or its fragmentation state, I can't say anything further in that matter. What I will say though and I'm sure I have already said this to someone else in the past: Graphic cards matter as much as potatoes for Arma 2. I had a Geforce 460 which I underclocked to keep silent and I have the same amount of FPS on an overclocked radeon 7870XT.

intensity (DayZ) 312 Posted June 28, 2013 Your HDD is fine. How is your fragmentation? Check your programs, see if there's anything sucking out your cpu.Check this thread for ultimate performance tipshttp://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/45835-ultimate-guideinformation-thread-to-increase-performance/and cross reference it with this site:http://www.dayzpvp.com/ultimate-dayz-graphics-settings-and-tweaks-guide/
Galaxis 0 Posted June 29, 2013 It's better now, but still, I can't seperate if this is a little lag or just my nerves about this game so far. Thanks for all your help!
