JDM (DayZ) 30 Posted June 26, 2013 Its become a healthy habbit for me to always fly with my flight stick (logitech extreme pro 3d) on dayz. It actually has made flying so much easier and enjoyable. My question is will standalone support flightsticks as perfect as arma 2 does or even at all? Does anyone know anything about controls and extra input device features being ported from arma? Thanks
Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted June 26, 2013 (edited) I'd imagine it will be a while before we see helis in the SA but I did ask Matt Lightfoot about it quite a while ago and he said they were considering using the flight mechanics from TOH (a heli flight-sim from BIS) so yes, if that's done it will be supported. The flight models in TOH are much better than Arma 2 so you should have a lot to look forward to.As a note of caution though this was a few months ago, so far I haven't seen any news of heli's being confirmed at all for the SA Edited June 26, 2013 by Fraggle
Hutch (DayZ) 116 Posted June 26, 2013 Well, the standalone doesn't have any aircraft or any vehicles at all, YET.Once they are added, I would expect it to support whatever ToH supported.http://takeonthegame.com/
taco241 393 Posted June 27, 2013 I would be surprised if your flightstick were not usable in Sa.I also started flying with my old Cyborg EVO stick. Much nicer than the keyboard, especially with the yaw control and the free-look on the hat switch allowing you to peek around without affecting your control of the thing. JDM (DayZ) 30 Posted June 27, 2013 Thanks everyone, I feel like I can sleep at night now. Once it's officially supported and the in game system is stick friendly I'll get the A10 replica stick for $400. I've been needing a reason now I have hope.
monolith1985 109 Posted June 27, 2013 further to that, will it support using a controller?

I've been needing a reason now I have hope.I have TM Warthog replica stick, throttle, rudder pedals, pretty amazing hardware but i play flight simulators. My first joystick was Logitech Extreme 3d pro, really good for that 40€ price and good controls for most of the games. Edited June 27, 2013 by Bezzi
