ArmA 2 troubles

I have recently built a new desktop and I recently downloaded Steam. The ArmA 2 bundle(A2, OA, all DLC's) was on sale at half price and I had yet downloaded it for my new PC. After a long wait, I eagerly opened up ArmA 2 from Steam. It went normal, until my computer crashed at the start menu. Blue screen of death. I tried several more times and it did the same thing more than once. After a few hours of downloading new drivers and troubleshooting, I opened it up again it didn't crash. Instead, it was stuck with an image of my desktop and all windows opened but it was still the game menu. The music was going and I still had the ArmA 2 cursor, but I couldn't access the desktop or any windows/icons and I was forced to shut down manually. After downloading Planetside, I found that I had the same problem. I admit to overclocking my GPU to 1300Mhz(7870), when it was already factory overclocked and maybe that was an unstable clock for it. I have uninstalled an reinstalled Steam and I am reinstalling ArmA 2 at the moment. I have tried many, many different troubleshoots and driver updates lately and none of them have worked for shure. Is this a common problem or is it an isolated case? Please help me out, I don't want my new PC ending up as a $1000 paperweight.

lol, sounds like a messed up PC if its happening to 2 games. Not just Arma. Why you pushing it's limits man. They have feels too.

Overclocking can make the hardware unstable, your issues suggest your PC is unstable :P see the connection ?

Put them back to the defaults and try again, steam, ArmA and Planetside are not the cause :) I have all of them without any issues.
