WTF it is day in EU, not night

Hello every one,

joined EU24 server and it is night there - 01 00, as in Europ it is late late morning.

It was never before like this in that server.

Is this the patch?

I don't run a server or anything, so what I'm thinking might be wrong but... I think server admins can choose what timezone the game is in. Some choose their actual timezones, but I see a lot of servers based in NY (-5) and LA (-8) that are sometimes running GMT -11 and numbers far from their zones.

No, might be just something different with servers time.

I get pitch black night times when its sunny outside on same time zone so just go to different server.

Admin are just lazy.

If a server says GMT-5 and at the current moment it's 15:00 GMT then the server time in-game should be 10:00, regardless what "timezone" the server is located in.

Now many servers lag, crash/reboot and run with little administration and so the actual time they should portray in-game becomes way out of sync.

Auto restarts ever 3 or 6 hours, and then resetting the game time to whatever the "GMT-5" or equivalent for that server should be at that specific restart time, would cure this problem and maybe also some other performance bugs, just for good measure.

This is 2012, some automation is possible - it's not 1980 where a server administrator has to sleep next to the box and use pure command-line.

as far as i know your allowed to make a server +(whatever time) as long as its permanent and you still have the full cycle of day and night, maybe they changed it?

Servers can change time as far as I know, or have different time zones to be completely different time zones which affect the server. Since the night/day cycle is based on server time.

..because they are changing thousand things, but not the core features (probably because isn't that easy to do so) .. and the most useful ones: like showing the timezone the server is using in the server list, so you don't have to jump tenth servers to find the "right" one.

If it is 10 PM outside and the game is night: Complain.

If you switch timezones to please them on your server and it becomes 10AM outside : Everyone complains since night is inevitable :P

That does not exclude me being lazy though......

While some servers are really not getting their desired attention from the admins, it is still not easy to be around for them the whole day. (But at least once you return home you should check your servers. Takes 20 seconds to restart 2 servers anyways.)

Automation looks cool on the paper. In praxis it's not, since when I restart the server it involves too much steps that could not be made by a program.

Blimey people complain about the dark and having to go on US servers in the evening for daytime gameplay so an EU server switches the day/night cycle to accommodate Europeans in the evening and someone moans about it.

Bit of a non issue, just change server if you want it dark plenty of them.
