New melee suggestion with guns

I am not sure if anyone has put this as a suggestion but, I think that you should be able to melee attack with guns, and instead of killing the zombie, it would knock them on the ground or push them back, or both! I think it would be useful in cases of getting away from zombies instead of switching to a melee and risk infection, and death.

here are 2 fine examples of melee with guns. The first uses the classic pistol whip approach which could be best employed against other players.....

i would love IF dayz standalone used left 4 deads melee mechanics. running while slashing with hatches, and able to push back zombies with tour weaponweapon.

If anyone has seen State of Decay's melee system, that's a good example. The ability to stomp/rifle butt/smash a zombie's head when it's knocked down after a few hits of a baseball bat or a kick would be cool.

F toggles weapon modes, currently semi/burst/auto on many weapons. they could add in an alt fire to that list "melee", would just need the animation.
