I've now experienced this on two servers, DE61 and US47.

Successfully placing a tent on the ground without moving your character causes your character to repeat the tent placing animation repeatedly. This causes multiple tents to be placed on top and inside one another. Item placement and removal seem to be unaffected.

Multiple tents are rendered in the same location and each tent can be packed up and looted, the process effectively creates a new tent each animation and sound loop.

To place only one tent, the player must actively move their character during the initial animation/sound.
