Or is the first time a player is hit by a zombie a guaranteed bleed? Either me and everyone I know is extremely unlucky, or there's something that giving people insanely high chances to bleed the first time they are struck by a zombie.

I noticed it too... somehow whenever i'm at 12k HP, i always bleed on first hit, after that i patched it up and got hit 8 others times, didn't bleed once, i guess it's just the game trying to punish you for not being careful enough at the beggining.

They were made stronger along with the LOS implementation. They just need to work out visibility and hearing, then it will be more about evading them and the damage they do won't seem so devestating.

It might be random though.. it doesn't happen to me everytime. Luckily bandages are almost everywhere.. I always keep at least 4. two on me and two in my pack. Also there's a chance for it to heal on its own as well.. which I can confirm is working.

not always but yes the chance to bleed on the first time you get hit is really freaking high.
