Decrease the spotting via Sound

First off all, the 1.7.7.1 patch really did his job, now you can really enjoy the new features but on the other hand... I don't know if it's just me who is annoyed how zombies spot through walls. 10 Minutes ago, freshly spawned at Solinichy, wanna try my luck... sneeking over the road, everything ok but than, on the grass path next to the road i start running while crouched. BLRÖGHAWdA, screaming zombie, where? Behind a wall and a little house, ~ 20-30 meters away.

I think this is quite to much and I thought of 2 things.

First, the hearing overall, maybe they should't hear you over this distance through buildings while you crouch over grass... maybe if you run full speed over the highway but... jeah, I think you get the point.

Now, to my 2. Idea, maybe the zombies just shoudn't run straight to you after spotting via sound, I think it would be better ( and more realistic) if they maybe, don't know, maybe do something like a smelling or a surprised grunt and walk mid tempo (much slower than chasing but still faster than normal walking around) to where they spotted you.

What are you thinking of this idea?

Medium speed instead of all-out sprinting towards noises is a good idea ;)

Are you sure you were crouch-running on grass though? Sometimes the grass gives way to hard dirt or concrete, which was extremely noisy to run on before this patch.

jeah it was"grass" but I know, in Arma the floortypes arent really sharp/perfect so maybe it was loud as dirt but i still think it was not loud enough for the reaction of the zombie :D

I just hope that they gonna do something like the idea with the slow approaching

I think they already have an 'investigating' state in 1.7.7 where they walk towards the sound source, it just depends how much you alert them.

"Huh? Who's footprints are these?"

"What was that noise?"

Maybe, but this zombie really runned straight to me and after the spotting scream i started to walk with shift...
