Waiting for server to start authentication

Hello people,

I am a bit mad, because my DayZ randomly stopped working. Monday arround lunch it was working and got me killed, so I decided to take a break and wanted to start fresh again yesterday evening. Sadly I couldnt join one of my usual servers, because the loadscreen hangs at "Waiting for server to start authentication". I did play some Arma2 OA singleplayer in the meantime and did change some graphics values in the arma2oa config to increase my fps. Is that the reason? I already repaired all data through steam and reinstalled updates via dayzcommander.

any help appreciated

After some topics with the same problem popped up in other forums some hours ago, I can answer the question myself:

I had already updated to the new hotfix-version while my friends and the servers I was goin to play did not.

Can not confirm this now, because I am in the University, but it sounds plausible.
