Join server, get black screen. (SOLVED)

I'm brand new to the game, and I was playing for the first time last night. After going to sleep and trying again for the last hour, every server I join leads me to a mostly black screen.

I get a random name (ex: Pvt Mandog), a vertical white line, and the disconnect button. The chat still works, but other than that, nothing. My only option is to disconnect.

Fixed it. Verified all files on steam, which caused a corrupt file on dayz within commander, then fixed that, and it works.
