Having troubles lowering the hatchet

I've tried 2x Left Ctrl and Right Ctrl + R and none works. The character only seems to 'change stance', but the hatchet stays in his hands resulting in an inability to sprint and having movement speed greatly reduced since it carries the hatchet in a ready-to-attack position (over the shoulder).

I just started the game (2-3 days ago) and I'm not completely familiar with controls yet. I was wondering if I was doing something wrong. Thanks for clearing that up.
