zyromkiru 1 Posted June 20, 2012 List from 1.7 to 1.7.1.4Pros:-Melee weapons (have too many hits, should be under 1,000) [bug: logging into a different server may cause melee weapon to have no more "ammo"]-Made some servers smoother-zombie sounds-zombie animations-animals x2-slower bleed-stronger zombies-Hunger and Thirst no longer continue to drop while you are offline-and other obvious things-Can lose zombies by hiding [bug: works 2% of the time]-no firearms make people work together in the beginning-heartbeat for banditsCons:-Zombies have x-ray vision-Zombies can see you from a massive distance even if crouched-no starter weapon (WAYYY to hard for most/makes the game boring due to OP zombies and other players with guns, maybe a plank/wooden bat with 100 attacks would be nice?)-no morphine (usually the leg will get broken easily)-Zombies for some reason cause lots of lag now...Didn't happen beforePossibly from earlier patches as well:-night time is TOO dark (it would be nice to have it still pretty dark but make it so you can at least see some outlines of the world)suggestions: (some are above)-Barbed wire should stop zombies (so they can't walk through it)-Tank traps should stop zombies (so they can't walk through it)-Limit how much barbed wire one can put down (2-4 would be good)-Limit how much Tank traps one can put down (2-4 would be good)-Flies should go away faster if players hide a body
framesh1ft 1 Posted June 20, 2012 I'll put mine here I supposeI agree. The zombies detection needs to be toned down a bit but otherwise it's a nice patch.
logan23 118 Posted June 20, 2012 How about Barbwire causes Zeds to fall and can crawl only.
Rinner23 5 Posted June 20, 2012 Throw animal meat to lure zombies away (more effective than flares).
Turin (DayZ) 3 Posted June 20, 2012 I agree on most points, except with the no starter pistol listed as a con. I think it's a great improvement.
Tempered Saint 1 Posted June 20, 2012 Hatchet takes up too much space and cannot be put in pack. Personally I would prefer the old mechanic back or some variation on that. Have not had any other problems, but have heard of a bug that turns people invisible and allows them to not aggro zombies or be seen by players.
jdayzserver 0 Posted June 20, 2012 Here are some behaviors I noted: I love this game so here is some hopefully constructive bug reporting.- Zombies occasionally teleport through walls- While it is possible to hide from certain zombies there seems to be one in the pack that teleports behind you, I spent a few hours testing this tonight on various servers and it doesn't seem related to lag- Zombies seem to see through entire buildings. Tested this by aggroing zombies from the other side of a building without having to move(they start making their aggro noises then eventually come running)- Aggroing one zombie seems to automatically aggro zombies from very far away, sometimes beyond maximum view distance(without binoculars or scopes). They just don't aggro as you run by they seem to come from in front of you well beyond you field of vision.- Zombies occasionally aggro you while your inside of a building(or on top) from street level- Players are reentering games after patching are missing their equipped weapons(was only to verify this with 3 users). Equipped Handguns seem to be replaced by a makarov- Attempting to place a hatchet in your back pack makes the hatchet disappear- Placing items in other players bags will occasionally cause the item to either fall on the floor or disappear altogether-Zombies rubberband to their original spawn points after deaggroing. If a player is near them when this happens they instantly gain aggroI love the new hide/seek mechanic because it allows you to be more aggressive against other players and zombies while having a potential escape mechanism but occasionally it becomes impossible to get rid of one of the zombies. MissBehave 37 Posted June 20, 2012 Regarding the dark. I do enjoy the idea of having the realism of being in the woods or outdoors without electricity. However in the real world, after a period of time your eyes will adjust to the darkness, allowing you to see shapes and maneuver in the darkness.Having spent time outdoors in the wilderness, whenever you are far from artificial light and the moon is out, the environment is actually very bright. With moonlight and adjustment to darkness you can see quite well in an environment.I would love to see some sort of visual adjustment over time when playing at night and allow for more environmental lighting when the moon is out. zyromkiru 1 Posted June 20, 2012 I agree on most points' date=' except with the no starter pistol listed as a con. I think it's a great improvement.[/quote']ahh yes but I said weapons not pistols/guns :)Having a blunt weapon would be nice that way even if you were hostile someone else could just run away from you. You aren't a threat to others very much and you have some protection for your first moments in game.also posted this for a pro:-no firearms make people work together in the beginningwhich essentially means no pistols in the beginning xD
heathy87 1 Posted June 20, 2012 i dont know if it helps but before 1.7.1.4 i had a hatchet, when i logged in to the new patch i lost my weapons and my hatchet, but the problem now seems to be that i cannot pickup a new hatchet it just says 'there is no room in your inventory'
