Kozmas 30 Posted June 18, 2013 I was reading that Rocket is going to release a public alpha that you have to pay for where the price of the game will steadily increase as it nears completion. My question is, is if I buy the game as soon as he puts it out there, will I have to pay anything else in the future? I sure hope not.
Jgut90 71 Posted June 18, 2013 You only pay once. YOPO!
King Tubbs 224 Posted June 18, 2013 nope once you have it you have it, you basicly get a discount for alpha testing it on release the game will be a LONG way from being finished so unless you want to be a tester wait a little to buy
PK Richie 507 Posted June 18, 2013 When it's in its Alpha stage it will be cheap, as the game develops the price increases so the Beta will cost more than the Alpha but still be cheaper than the full release. That is how ArmA 3 is done so i presume Dayz SA will be the same :)No matter what version you buy it in, you will still have the full game. Kozmas 30 Posted June 18, 2013 Game breaking bugs and stuff do not bother me, so I'll definitely be getting it ASAP. I just hope there won't be any more hackers.

I just hope there won't be any more hackers. There never was any real hackers, just script kiddies as ArmA was designed to be easily modded and hundreds of scripts were wrote. The SA release is all done server side, it will stop client side scripts :)

But, that's just what everyone calls them. That is good to hear, none the less.
WBK 176 Posted June 18, 2013 There never was any real hackers, just script kiddiesSorry to go all n00b up in this bizness, but what is the difference?
JoeM (DayZ) 41 Posted June 18, 2013 (edited) Sorry to go all n00b up in this bizness, but what is the difference?Well the DayZ mod is mostly done client side, simply put, your client tells the server what is spawning. Therefore if you wanted an AS50, all you had to do was get your client to tell the server that you have an AS50 and there you go, an AS50.The SA game will be server side, the server will tell your client what is spawning. So if you want that AS50, you have to hack directly into the server itself to give you an AS50.Scripts you could download off the internet, simple as that. To hack into the server takes a highly skilled person who probably has better things to do with his time.EDIT: Does anyone know if duplicating items has been directly tackled for SA, that is a gamebreaker for me.
