they are too OP for dayz!!

DayZ is not supposed to be balanced. that's why you are afraid of the ravaging AS50 lunatics running around the map and camping the loot.

I'm talking about the standalone if they decide to add them again there should be some countermeasures such as a thermal shielding blanket.

To be honest, even if they do add thermal scopes back in (which I really hope they don't) - I think thermal cloaking blankets are a bit silly in the context of a survival game when you can go all Arnie and cover yourself in mud (like in Predator)

AS50's M107's and Thermals were all balanced. Power for rarity. But hackers and cheaters fucked that.
