Crates.

Recommended Posts

So in current mod the only way to stash items you find are in tents and vehicles.

My question is are there any plans to have something more than tents?

Crates?

Safes?

Simply hiding things in the ground?

I heard a lot about underground bases maybe this is a solution?

But i would like to see crates or boxes.

and these crates and boxes cannot be in your inventory.

You have to drag them.

And spawn in grocery stores and in industrial buildings.

A crate would carry a lot more gear than a tent or car.

It would be a challenge to move into the forest.

You could load crate into a car.

Crates themselves would spawn things inside them. A crate full of beans would be highly valuable.

A situation i would like to see:

Just spawned

Get into Electro.

Walk into supermarket and find a crate with X amount of food. or anywhere for that matter.

Struggle to secure it. ( killing zeds or making sure other survivors don't comes along)

Struggle to move and load it up into a car.

If you don't have the means of moving crate then just take what you need.

I want to see something other than tents to store gear.

i don't want to turn thread into about how easy it should be to get supplies.

But i think realistically there will be situations in a real zombie apocalypse where you will come across a opportunity to have a great amount of supplies and the problem is securing and moving them.

So you are faced with a situation to just grab what you can or invest time into getting the whole load.

Seeing 10 tents randomly in the middle of forest adds a unrealist feel.

I'll support this only if I'm able to lock them with a ridiculously large padlock and key, then sell it for monies.

It's a TF2 reference, goddamnit.

But how will I sell my incredibly pricey hats to survivors if you take them all? :c

I was going to reply earlier, but the hat-banter is discouraging.

Give me a wheelbarrow or shopping-trolly to move those crates (with a HELL of a lot of noise) and you've got yourself a deal.

Also, maybe you shouldn't fit them in cars, just pickups, vans and trucks.

That would mean different vehicles serve different purposes and each would be valued differently.

Just a thought.

I like this.

A car couldn't load crate.

You would have to find some sorta truck to load it in.

Edit: Maybe you have to have somebody else to move crate

might provoke good intentions among survivors.

Co-op actions are always welcome in my book.

The only problem I see is having two characters holding the same object (lifting a crate). The animations for that would be a pain in the ass.

EDIT: Unless it's done as a "mini" vehicle, sort of thing.

The player at the front is the "driver", and the player at the back just follows. Either player should be able to choose to "drop" the crate at any time. In case of emergency.

yes.

the animations for 2 players having to lift a crate would be a Klusterfuk.

Maybe you can drag crate around by your self.

but to load it into a vehicle it would take 2 people.

a crate simply can be handled by one person but with a downfall.

it just take time and effort to move it around.

it should hold more stuff than a tent.

you can put camo over it.

off topic

-When you see stuff from a distance the detail of grass and bushes isn't there. So you aren't that hidden as you think you are.

putting camo over boxes would eliminate that.

you could hide stuff in the forest and not worry about people in helicopters seeing it.
