Wanting to Solve why I get kicked

Recommended Posts

Looking for some advice. I have had problems playing DayZ now for at least 6 months. I can connect to a server play it for anywhere between 5-15 minutes and then get kicked off with the message "You were kicked off the game" and I have been told by a fellow player they see a message of "Player Aklys: Signature check timed out".

I am using a Steam install and DayZ commander to connect to the servers. I have no problems staying connected to other games within ARMA just DayZ Servers.

I have tried so far:

* Reinstalling the ARMA suite

* Validating the installs in steam

* Remove @DayZ and reinstall it

* Try multiple servers

* Allow all armaoa.exe complete freedom across firewall

* Put machine attempting to play DayZ in the DMZ

So this leads me to three questions:

1. How does one know why you were kicked without another player telling you?

2. What makes a signature check time out?

3. How do I rectify the problem?

Look forward to hearing any ideas as how to rectify this. Please advise if there is anything I may need to provide to get any help from the community.

Thanks in advance.

Edit:

And I should probably mention I have been looking for sometime for a solution throughout the forums. But I haven't found a solution out there yet.

a signiture check is something the game does by running ur cdkey through a its servers to see if its valid think of the CDkey as a signiture well sometimes a signiture fails or a code fails and a signiture fails so thats why it will say "Signiture check failed" or "timed out" it could also be a latency lag that is because ur ISP is crap

Ok well I guess there's always the potential to have a crap ISP but I would expect other games would experience issues to that utilise my internet connection. I can play other ARMAII and ARMAIII mods (eg. wasteland, co-op) without fault. I get a ping of about 30-45 from the server I'm connecting to. I can see and interact with other players (if I happen across them) in the 5-15 minutes I'm connected. Would this be enough to reflect that the ISP isn't crap? what other reasons could there be if these further details remove the identified possibilities you have mentioned?

Thanks for the feedback though on what the signature check is.

Ha, in my personal opinion, when u say you uninstalled everything, how far did you go into uninstalling and did you do the common practice of a 100%complete uninstall of arma, even in programs/features, steam, and your registry files. if i we're you, i would delete all arma 2 content from steam, Then hit your start bar and type Regedit. this is what it should look like:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bohemia Interactive

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2 OA

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dotjosh Studios\DayZ Commander

Those got to be deleted inorder to complete the 100% uninstall. KEEP in mind, your OS (Operating System) could be corrupted, i had this problem so many fing times until re installed windows 7, then all a sudden i never had that problem, later on. I found out that it was my OS registry files were not allowing me to connect to almost any server dayz would play, but arma2 dominion,realism,cap flag, Counter-strike,left 4 dead all those game ran perfectly fine, except dayz. so yea, i dunno what to tell you, if that don't work, then the express exit for your computer is out the nearest window.
