DayZ Easter Egg Ideas

Lot's of well-received games have amusing easter eggs, from the Cake Room in Portal to the Turret Concert in Portal 2, or the dancing animations in ArmA and the dancing, insane Grunts in each Halo game.

Because we all need our shits and giggles in the zombie apocalypse, why not easter eggs in the SA?

Nothing too silly or simple; they need to be a real pain in the ass to find and figure out. Such a pain in the ass that six or seven patches could be out by the time anyone even knows they exist.

Idea:

Put a skull in every city, with a single letter or number on it. Each letter is part of a message from the dev team. But rather than it being something as simple as an anagram something with simple dyslexic skills could figure out, the order should have a hint, like it goes in alphabetical order.

Let's say there's these cities and letters:

Alf: D

Jerome: G

Benvil: O

Alphabetically, it would spell "Dog."

The order could also be deduced by city size (smallest to largest, vice-versa).

If there are easter eggs, people should work for it.

Also: Release an update every December for the winter holidays that drops the temperature of Chernarus to freezing. If you don't have a jacket, you're dead.

This would be great, I love games that change things up for seasons and holidays. Someone will always complain they don't celebrate X holiday or it's not cold where they live at that time of year etc, but nonetheless it's nice to change things up.

Plus the fact Chernarus is not where you live so its not going to follow your seasons.

And yeah, easter eggs would suit a game like this well, but I don't think the players are supposed to decide what they are.

Um, you shouldn't really 'suggest' easter eggs, the whole point is that we DON'T know about them and are supposed to be surprised when we see them.

The easter egg idea sounds cool, but as you said, it cant be something silly nor simple. Your idea was good, but we'll see what they come up with if they do add this.

Also, turn the heat up during summer, turn it down during winter, and you have a realistic gaming experience - you'd have to drink water more often during summer, and you should really get a jacket or make a fire during winter time, or you'd freeze...
