So i was Watching Reds Videos on you tube the other day, a series he has done on the dayz mod.

And was blown away by this mod, so i bought the combined ops pack to give the mod a go.

I bought the pack on steam, then followed the directions on the steam forums to install the mod.

after about 2 hours of trying to get the mod to work i gave up.

The next day i installed the six launcher, was then getting some errors and still couldnt play.

eventually i deleted all the files then installed the mod manualy, then installed the six launcher and it seems to work now.

SO the mod is up and working, my main problem is getting into a server, ive been able to join 1 time where the game lasted for a few hours.

it seems that here in aus there is only about 5 servers that are kept upto date, the problem is 3 are at our time and 2 are about 12 hours later, The problem with this is all the day time servers are always full, after spamming join for an hour i tend to give up, and the other half of the servers are less than half full but there at night time and i cant see anything at all.

So at this time im a little frustrated with the mod,

Now that my life story is over, lets talk about that few hours that i got to play.

The learning curve is defnetly one of the harder ones out there,

Starting with nothing has led to a lot of deaths, But everytime i die i do get a little bit better at playing, untill crawling around a town for gear i see my first other survivor, hes bolting for his life down the main road, till he notices me crawling around, so this nugget runs over to me circles me and runs off, so now i get killed from the Z's aswell.

So a few bad starts but im gettig the hang of it, the first gun i come across is a lee enfield, you shouldve seen the smile on my face lol. the problem with getting a gun, let alone a rifle, is the first time you want to kill somthing, so i shoot me a zombie, minutes later with 32 zombie kills to my name, i must have hit a button because now im throwing stuff out of my backpack, not knowing what is going on i end up die'ing.

so far thats my only story for this mod, having problems getting into a server is the only thing keeping me back, but this game is so much funa and has so much potential, im gonna keep trying till it kills me lolz :)

Well you're in a shitty part of the world as far as gaming is concerned.

The Japanese and Chinese don't really like western games so your stuck with the servers your given, but you can use the options to make you see better at night, so good in fact that you wont need to use flares only one or two chem lights now and again.

Look it up.
