PK Richie 507 Posted June 7, 2013 Set your max ping to 50 would help but not an ideal solution, you'll need to set the rules on your server.Try this link Block Visitors by Country or contact your hosting provider, any decent company will help but possibly charge. SoWeMeetAgain 100 Posted June 7, 2013 thats so ridiculously retarded, any movements against this bullshit limit?traffic costs the isps exactly nothing. the infrastructure obviously is there (or the connections wouldn't be possible at all) ...
alexone 1 Posted June 8, 2013 (edited) they just get more money out of common people .... thats how it is ... but any ideas about ip blocking?i am on 100mb/s optical line and got 240gb international download ... after that connection slow down if i dont want to pay more.. inside a country there is no limitations Edited June 8, 2013 by alexone

TheDesigner 1197 Posted June 8, 2013 exactly what do you propose costs them in traffic?it costs so much because they can make you pay that much.Maybe next time look up your answers before guessing :)It's the same with phone companies and international calls. I'm no expert and neither are you, but it probably costs fractions of a dollar for international connections which add up to a lot.
SoWeMeetAgain 100 Posted June 8, 2013 no, see, it does not cost them anything substantial - and you are paying for the service anyways, right?they're just milking the people for all they can, nothing more to it
PK Richie 507 Posted June 8, 2013 exactly what do you propose costs them in traffic?it costs so much because they can make you pay that much.Maybe next time look up your answers before guessing :)Incase you honestly don't get it then read How UK ISPs are charged for broadband - the cost of IPStreamI'm not guessing, there are costs and they are huge when you factor everything in that it costs to get the bandwidth from point A to point B.Unless you think the internet backbone magically runs on its own, tech people work for free, laying expensive cables under the sea to provide more capacity as data use increases, paying for the hardware, paying people to write software so the hardware runs, power running the servers and data centers and substations etc etc
SoWeMeetAgain 100 Posted June 23, 2013 there simply is NO cost factor that scales with the actual traffic routed over the hardware. Period. Everything listed does not scale with traffic.
