Ghillie suits and Main Weapons

I noticed today after the 1.7.1.4 patch came through, that my main weapon isn't hidden as per my backpack, whilst wearing a Ghillie suit. How can I possibly hide from an enemy (another player) if my main weapon can be clearly seen on the ground? Or is it only visible to me? Feedback appreciated. Thanks.

Even with your weapon visible it's pretty damn hard to see people in ghillie suits. Find one of the weapons with camo (the SVD has it I think) if you want to be 100% hidden.
