It depends is the best answer you'll get. However, you can kill as many bandits as you like without losing humanity, and I don't recommend killing Heroes if you can avoid it, as this will almost always give you a bandit skin (assuming that's something you want to avoid)

Nope, you wont know you have the bandit skin until you either change back to a civilian skin, or die.

In DayZ Origins it usually just takes 1 survivor kill to become a bandit.

According to humanity system it takes roughly 4 to 5 survivor kills to reach Bandit status, as far as I am aware they don't give out bandit skins

Also, when your humanity goes below 2500 it slowly rises back up to 2500, making it possible to kill an infinite amount of people without ever getting the bandit skin. not that i condone such things.
