TheLocust113 0 Posted June 2, 2013 My computer can run oblivion and skyrim fine so its not a problem with ram or graphics card. It could possibly be connection but it happens so often. Every time I play within a few minutes I get a ton of lag on any server. Any suggestions to help would be awsome. Thanks!

spinager 152 Posted June 2, 2013 Then nothing much you can do. Its Arma 2's fault it gets laggy. Has a high read write between the harddrive.
bensticles 75 Posted June 2, 2013 Could try: This might not be a good choice for a ton of mods because you will need a large amount of ram. May help though. Also try: http://www.dayzpvp.com/ultimate-dayz-graphics-settings-and-tweaks-guide/What are your specs?
Mos1ey 6301 Posted June 2, 2013 Any PC can run Skyrim or Oblivion whereas ARMA 2 and especially DayZ are really hardware intensive. What are your specs and current graphics settings in DayZ?
chakijz 174 Posted June 2, 2013 By computer you mean a stationary one or a laptop? If it's a laptop, it could be overheating.
Mos1ey 6301 Posted June 2, 2013 My thoughts are that he's either overheating or running out of video memory. Need to find his specs first to see which is more likely though.

TheLocust113 0 Posted June 2, 2013 And no not laptop. I'm wandering about the video memory to, if it is theres probably something wrong with my computer, i think the hardware is decent, could be getting outdated now
Mos1ey 6301 Posted June 2, 2013 Well the dual-core CPU and 4600 series graphics card will be struggling, they're quite old now. Your system could quite easily be overheating, have you checked your temps after the FPS drops start? Also, it would be helpful to know exactly which 4600 series card you have. And if you haven't already, make sure that 'video memory' in your in-game graphics settings is set to 'default' to make sure that you're using all of your available memory.
