Noob needs help

I am so nooby XD I got the message bad version server rejected. Dayz commander also tells me that it can't launch arma 2 with dayz. Please check directories? Not sure where I need to put what.

When you run DayZ Commander, click on Install / update (top right of the window) and install the Arma 2 patch and download DayZ if necessary (just click the Install buttons).

make sure you run Arma2 and Arma2 operation arrowhead first, they have to be started at least once before dayz will work.

also make sure you install the arma beta patch i recommend 103718 as the newer ones have had reports of bugs.

Done that as well but don't know where to get the arma beta patch. I'm thinking something is messed up with my directories but I'm not sure how to fix that Edited June 2, 2013 by osirislee

whoops, you ninja'd me.

You can install the beta patch in DayZ Commander. When you click the Install / update button and the new window appears you'll have three options:

Updating Dayz Commander at the top.

Then directly below it is the option to install the Arma 2 beta patches, there's a list of versions you can choose from. I installed the latest myself but as Fluxley pointed out, there's apparently bugs in it so you might go one version lower.

Below that are the different DayZ-versions you can install.

Did you buy it on Steam or is it a retail version?

Also, do you run DayZ Commander as Administrator? That might be necessary in order to update Arma as it's a separate setup-program.

I bought Arma 2 along with combined operations on steam. I've use dayz commander but have never seen anything with running it with administration? I've updated everything under install/update station.

Just to clarify combined operations isnt a game itself, its a package containing Arma2 and Arma2:operation arrowhead, you probably know this just making sure.
