ArmA 2 for DayZ or StandAlone edition?

Hi,is better buy ArmA 2 for DayZ now,or wait for StandAlone edition? Thanks for answers! :-)

It depends. If you want DayZ, only DayZ, and nothing but DayZ, definitely wait. But if you think you'd be interested in ArmA II, which is a badass game, go for it.

I'm pretty sure you can get an ArmA 3 lite key easily for free. ArmA 2 is a really damn good game, so I wouldn't blame you for buying it anyway.

If you want to play ARMA then get ARMA 3.

If you want to play ARMA and DayZ mod then get ARMA 2.

As above if you only want to play DayZ then I'd just wait for the standalone, large-scale closed testing starts tomorrow so it really can't be long now!

Lol, the best thing would be for you to read some independant info on all of the above and make an informed choice. Arma 3 is awesome and miles ahead of Arma 2 but it's also still in Alpha with limited content ATM.. It's a decision only you can make and depends largely on how much disposable income you have.

The DayZ mod and the standalone game will not be the same thing. If you like the look of the DayZ mod, and can afford it, I'd say buy arma II and operation arrowhead and download the mod.

If you want to later buy the standalone game you, when it is eventually released. I intend to continue playing the DayZ community mod when the Standalone is released. I'll be playing both if it's possible, as they're not the same game.
