Weird Zombie/Survivor glitch...

Ok this is a weird one (well I think it is) and it's causing a problem

Earlier today I was in one of the high player traffic areas (think it was cherno) well, I see two zombies rushing me, I don't remember attracting their attention but I unload into them. a few seconds after they die, they turn into player skins. And they had all their items and such on them. This happened repeatedly, i ended up getting a bunch of zombies but also about 10 people. I generally have no intention of killing people unlkess i believe they are gnna attack me, so thats kinda a problem. Do you have any idea why this is happening? Or how I could fix it?
