i should soon have 8gigs of ram. How come alot of people are telling me they play on normal laptops? I dont get that atall

Many people play the game on less that 20fps.

Ask who ever downloaded it on your work computer to help you out ...... Im no expert when it comes to pc's and a managed to download arma 2 co and the day z mod with 6 launcher , and get it all running within 5 or 6 hours . There are a couple of decent you tube videos showing you how to do it step by step.
