Don't be afraid

No it's an anti-game

It's supposed to be difficult

Sniping should not be easy, every aspect of the game should rely on your skills as a player and not dumbed down game mechanics that puts everyone on an equal footing

Well trained sniper..... The fact that everyone could be a well trained sniper is ridiculous, a few minutes in arma and you can be

In this game you work and search for your gear

It should be the same for snipers, put In the effort and get a reward and not get it for free (basically)

While this is correct, it also disagrees with the entire concept of DayZ.

The point of the mod is that it's bare bones, and all players are at the same skill level by default, and there are no given advantages or disadvantages. I think that the removal of the M107 and AS50 will have some impact on how much skill is required as other guns without 'click sniping' as zeroing will now (mostly) rely on mil-dots.

So perhaps we'll see something like this in future releases, and it'll be something to anticipate. :)

Dayz IMO should be able to attract a casual gamer.

Why should it be able to attract casual gamers since the goal is not to make money, as long as the costs are eventually paid for by sales?

Certain games just don't offer the gameplay those people are looking for. Just like the games they play don't offer me what I'm looking for. In no way should DayZ be dumbed down to attract casual gamers because that basically means cutting and dumbing down features to appeal to a larger audience.
