Need Help with a texture problem

Recommended Posts

Recently I bough Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead, mainly for DayZ. When I first played Arma 2 however, there were textures missing from buildings, weird squares in the sky, and giant "things" connected to the NPC's. I tried what the wiki said about "Right click ARMA 2 in STEAM - 'Properties' - 'Local Files' - 'Verify integrity of game cache'.

Try changing your ingame video settings." but it still didn't work.

If anyone knows how to fix this problem it would be most appreciated!

( I have the steam version if that helps )

Thanks,

Have you done the usual of checking your vid car drivers and making sure its not overheated / is powerful enough to run the game?

No, what would you need to run the game? I just know I have an AMD Phenom II X4 810 Processor 2.60 GHz 6.00 GB of RAM, and an ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics ,

Sorry I'm new to this :L

What vid card ? Check as NoMoreChillies said, update your drivers first.

Your cpu should be ok as should your amount of ram. Does it look ok if you try vanilla arma ?

Put your graphics settings in game to default then work your way up and see how it goes each time. Could be any one of the hotfixes too. Me and my mate (gtx680 and gt560ti) both got terrible graphics anomalies in 1.7.1.3 but 1.7.1.4 seems good again.

Once you find out what card you have, do a search for posts related to that card and ARMA graphics settings.

Turn postprocessing effects off (disabled) game looks like shite with it on.

ahhh did you edit and add the card to your post or did i miss it ? either way..the card is a major major letdown :) Try a low resolution and low settings , the game is never going to run and look great with that card sorry :)

Still, make sure you have the latest drivers for your setup and tweak your machine so nothing is running in the background while trying it out but i really do not expect you will get too far with something like that laptop and the ARMA engine .

Well this is weird because before I had installed Arma and a new driver, my games were running fine, but now it seems Far Cry 2 is getting the same problem I'm having with DayZ/Arma 2, even after I updated the driver my windows update told me to :L

Reinstall DirectX, get rid of the graphics cards driver, restart, install the newest one.

Windows update doesn't give you the newest driver btw. Go to AMD for that.

Also, your GPU is probably too slow to run this game decently anyways.

Make sure that all temperatures are ok as well.

That's a laptop right?

Desktop, I know it sucks :L

The average temperature was around 62 degrees Celsius, which I'm guessing is overheating
