How to retrieve and change a CD key?

Okay so somehow I was globally banned from BattlEye.

I bought my friend combined operations through, steam now he doesn't want to play anymore and offered my his CD key. How would I swap keys. I know how to change the CD key, I just don't know how to find out his then explain to him how to give it to me.

Any help?

Simply ask him to sign into steam on your computer (If he trusts you enough with his account, make damn sure you respect that trust, otherwise ask him visit your house and login himself) and reinstall the game through his account, making sure that you've uninstalled your copy first.
