DayZ Important Ratios

Recommended Posts

Well, to start off I posted this topic so people would be aware of the current stats of DayZ, as I didn't know the situation until now.

As of 5/16/13, the current ratio of heros to bandits is 1:3.4, or 1 hero to roughly every 3 bandits. This is for EVERY hero that has been alive THROUGHOUT THE COURSE OF THE GAME to just the amount of bandits alive ATM.

1 out of every 8 players is a bandit.

30% of all deaths are deaths of a bandit (the bandit was killed).

The distance players have walked is equivalent to walking the entire map 75,039 times.

For every player death there has been 53 zombie deaths.

For every unique character created, 2% have been/are heros (this includes bandits that bloodbag friends to trick other players, and those bastards shouldn't count).

DayZ has been played in total 2,909 years. (That's a lot of :beans:s)

These stats were taken from the official DayZ website, however they are just from public hives, as Fraggle confirmed. If I screwed up post in the comments below.

Hope you guys found these as interesting as I did.

Have a good day,

-BambiAvenger

Yup, just to clarify, all of this info is taken from public hives so although interesting I'd say it doesn't give a very reliable over-view. Private hives are very different and arguably attract a different type of player too, it's a shame that data can't be collected from them but because of their nature it's impossible.

^^^^^^^ That is a shame, however, it still clarifies the situation that I was most interested in, the bandit:hero ratio. It might not be extremely accurate, however it gives a clearer view of the DayZ audience.

nice work, I applaud you if you have worked this out for yourself. However as Fraggle says, these are public hive stats and are unreliable as there are loads of factors that have an affect on this data such as un-returning gamers, banned gamers, multiple users, gamers who have switched to private hives etc. So I would argue with the "important ratios" title... :P

i would love for more universal stats, or the production of private stats, to be added to stand alone tough.

Yes, I tried to change the title after I posted this, but it doesn't work like that :P . Guess it's been awhile. And thank you, I did all the calculations myself  .

Then you have my beans sir for the calculations! Well done! I mus admit I'm a bit of a stats fan - I love trawling through stats - particularly gaming stats so reliable figures based on universal Day Z gaming would be very interesting to me!

Same here, these were very interesting to me even if they were somewhat inaccurate. I would love to see total stats for DayZ, but I don't think they're going to get that information from private hives. It kinda blows your mind just to think that on public hives only there have been 2,900 years played. And with most players (including myself) rarely going on pub hives anymore due to hackers and shitty admins, can't image what the total stats look like.

Nice post. Interesting figures. As a hero type it provides one with plenty of moving targets. Also seems with that kind of player to zombie death rate, that this war is winnable after all. Oh wait, they respawn ... but so do we. Fight on.
