Impossible to be silent with 1.7.1.4?

Is it impossible to be silent now with 1.7.1.4? I updated from 1.7.1.1, so i',m not sure which version brought this (bug?).

I have BetaPatch and 1.7.1.4 installed, and was playing on Servers which statet they are running on 1.7.1.4.

Last night i player for 1-2 hours on 1.7.1.1 and sneaking was fine, but now i am not able to play, because i can't move without attracting zombies around me. Sneaking makes 2 noisebars, and even crawling makes noise now!

How are you supposed to get around now, or is this a bug? I surely hope so...

I'm in a house right now, and can't even move around anymore, let alone escape.
