DoodlyDoo 0 Posted May 14, 2013 (edited) Hey guys,so I just bought the whole Arma II package on Steam to play Day Z. Now.. I thought I had a decent PC, atleast decent enough to play Day Z smoothly.. These are the specs:CPU: AMD FX-8120 Eight-Core Processor 3,10 GHzRAM: 6GB Dual Channel Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 SC 1024MBHowever, I still can't play this game smoothly. Even when I put everything on low / disabled (expect for the 3D resolution, that must stay on 1920x1080, because I can't stare at a blurry screen). I am willing to put some new gear into my computer. But do you guys have any tips/ideas what to change to play Day Z on "full high" settings with pure smoothness? Is it my video card that's maybe outdated? 6 RAM not enough? Should I overclock my CPU? I would love to hear from you guys. I personally don't have fun playing a game if it doesn't all go smoothly and I think I am not the only one. :) Edited May 14, 2013 by DoodlyDoo
AfterShave 140 Posted May 14, 2013 (edited) We should make a sport of posting on these threads before they get locked.AfterShave-1Everyone else -0But seriously, get yourself a 600+ GTX card and turn off anti-aliasing. Cap'n (DayZ) 1827 Posted May 14, 2013 You've got a decent mid range CPU & GPU, with those specs I'd expect you to handle well on even medium settings. I don't think that its your computer thats letting you down.
DoodlyDoo 0 Posted May 14, 2013 I wasn't aware that people where tensed about this subject. Ofcourse I have AA off, and that antiscropic sort of setting on disabled or low. But you could maybe answer the rest of my question? Is the rest of my setup good enough so they don't need a replacement.. ?

It's just that the looking around and walking part doesn't go smoothly.. Edited May 14, 2013 by DoodlyDoo

AfterShave 140 Posted May 14, 2013 It's not that we are tense, but mods usually redirect everyone with hardware questions to this thread http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/64576-can-i-run-it-ask-here/Is this happening on every server regardless of the place? Some servers have too many vehicles and this causes a big frame rate drop. You might also be having heating problems etc.
Mos1ey 6301 Posted May 14, 2013 (edited) A decent 3Gb quad-core, 4+Gb RAM and a 560Ti is what I always recommend as the minimum requirements for a 'smooth' DayZ experience so you're pretty much spot on.I'd try disabling antialiasing, ATOC, PPAA and post-process effects and set everything else to normal. It should run fine.As above - if you have any more questions please use the Can I Run It? topic...http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/64576-can-i-run-it-ask-here/Thanks.
